Headhunterz Main Stage

After the start of Willem Rebergen’s own sub-label Scantraxx Relouded – under the wings of the world leading Scantraxx imprint – Willem Rebergen has become an A-artist known all around the globe. With almost 20 EP’s under his belt Headhunterz can be described a true hardstyle master in the studio, who’s constantly pushing musical boundaries. This perfectionist developed his own sound over the last years that can be described as unique, recognisable and diverse.
The last four years he played every major event – Defqon.1 Festival, Hardbass, Fantasy Land, Qlimax, Q-base, Emporium, In Qontrol, Decibel, Mystery Land and many more – and visited about fifteen countries. “I can’t believe that I am working in this scene for five years already, but since 2004 my career went uphill really fast. It is my goal to grow as a musician all the time and to achieve this I’ve got to work hard. But when you have as much fun in what you do as I do, time really flies.”
At the age of six it was already apparent in the Rebergen family that young Willem – born on 12 september 1985 – was a creative child with music in his blood. He did voice over work for several movies, sung in a choir and worked on many studio projects when he was only a child.
He sung for years in a choir as a kid, worked on many studio projects and did voice acting for several movies. At 12 he got his hands on his first set of turntables and quickly moves into the harder areas of dance music. Five years later he expanded his musical ambition to producing when he got his hand on producing software. He hooked up with Deej-010 and released two tracks under the alias Nasty D-tuners: ‘Check ya head’ and ‘Breaking the rules’. When he also won the Q-dance DefQon.1 Festival DJ Contest he was able to start a professional DJ Career.
Many people took notice of this new kid on the block, including the legendary DJ/Producer The Prophet who offered Willem a record deal with Scantraxx in 2005. An offer he simply couldn’t refused. “I’m the kind of guy who likes to discover the studio on his own by trial and error. Nevertheless I can’t deny The Prophet has been a great mentor always wiling to give good advice and introduce me to important people in the scene.”
With massive hits such as ‘sacrifice’, ‘rock civilization’, ‘scantraxx rootz’, ‘reloaded part II’, ‘subsonic’, ‘end of my existence’, ‘time 2 rock’, ‘aiming for brain’, ‘forever az one’, en ‘fear of darkness’ and stunning collaborations with artists like The Prophet, Abject and Wildstylez he rocked the hardstyle-world. Together with Wildstylez Headhunterz recorded the well received artist album in 2008, which was released under the alias Project One. They followed up the release with a successful tour across the country.
Willem Rebergen has played more than 300 gigs since his breakthrough performance at Q-dance produced Scantraxx showcase X-clusive The Prophet in Amsterdam’s massive Heineken Music Hall. Headhunterz current sound has matured and Willem is acclaimed for his great melodies, in-your-face basses and well-arranged tracks that make you bounce up and down and smile happily. “I make hardstyle with a musical approach and put all my emotions into my productions. Good melodies and catchy vocals are my trademark, although it’s hard to predict how my music will sound in five years.”
